My darkest secret:
I’m not great at picking out wine.
Like a chump, I never turn down waiters’ recommendations, because I figure they know better. Invite me to dinner and I’ll happily bring wine, but suffer while surfing the web from my iPhone at the liquor store.
Then along came the Wine Ratings Guide from the kids at Nirvino. With over a million bottles in their portfolio, I can look up wines from the menu (with simple 5-star ratings, retail price, pairing recommendations, and flavor profiles) before the server even arrives to take my order.
You’re making Chilean sea bass? Not great for the planet, but it will go great with this Sancerre that I picked up.
